In general

MAK-IA is an online training platform powered by artificial intelligence. It offers a variety of courses (finance, IT, design, languages, soft skills…) with a contextual AI assistant that helps each learner progress at their own pace.
You can browse the catalog without an account. To take a course, save your progress and earn a certificate, creating a free account is required.
With your email and password. You can also request a single-use sign-in link sent by email — handy if you forgot your password. Your phone number can be used as an identifier. You can set or change your password anytime from your dashboard, under "Login & security".
Yes. The interface is in French and English; some courses are also offered in Spanish. To change language, open the "preferences" menu (settings icon, top right) — you will also find the light/dark mode toggle there.
Yes. You can sign up as an affiliate, share your referral link and earn a commission on the sales you refer. Apply from the "Affiliate program" page; your application is reviewed by our team.

For learners

After you sign up, a short email series (6 over 3 weeks) walks you through the site's tools: the AI assistant, notes, flashcards, progress tracking and certificates. You can unsubscribe anytime — via the link at the bottom of each email or the "Discovery emails" toggle on your dashboard.
On each lesson, a Claude (Anthropic) assistant is available to answer your questions. It knows the course context, your progress, and your strengths/weaknesses detected through previous quizzes. It never gives direct quiz answers, but guides you toward understanding. You can type your questions or dictate them with the microphone.
No. Messages sent to the AI assistant go through Anthropic, which does not use this data for model training (per its commercial contract). No data is resold or shared for advertising purposes.
Once all published lessons of a course are completed and the blocking quizzes passed, a completion certificate is generated automatically. It can be printed from your course page, shared on LinkedIn in one click ("Add to LinkedIn" button), and all your certificates are gathered under "My certificates". Each certificate carries a unique number that an employer can verify on our public "Verify a certificate" page.
Some courses have a short entry test (a few choice questions). It checks that the course matches your level BEFORE you pay: if you already master it, we tell you frankly and suggest the next level — otherwise you buy with confidence. Your result also helps build your personalized path. You can retake the test anytime.
Your personalized course sequence, built from your entry tests: concepts you already master are marked "Mastered" and skipped, the rest become your next steps, in pedagogical order. Find it in the "My account" menu or your dashboard — it updates with every retaken test and every completed course.
Yes, two ways: under each lesson, the "Questions about this lesson" section lets you ask a public question — the instructor answers and you are notified (other enrolled learners benefit from the answer too). For a private question, use the "Contact the instructor" button in the player.
Yes. On text lessons, the "Listen" button reads the content aloud using your browser's voice (pause, resume and stop available). Handy for reviewing while doing something else.
Several: select a passage of text and click "✨ Explain" to have the AI assistant explain it right away; adjust the text size (A− / A+); enable focus mode to hide the side menu; a progress bar and the remaining reading time follow your position; long lessons show a clickable outline; and on mobile, swipe left or right to change lessons.
If you are active, a weekly recap ("Your learning week") arrives on Sunday: lessons completed, current streak, cards to review and your next step. A friendly reminder is also sent if you leave a started course aside. Both can be turned off in one click from your dashboard.
For each completed module, an AI-generated practice quiz lets you rehearse as many times as you want. The result is not recorded: no impact on your progress, your real quizzes or your certificate.
On language courses that enable this option, you can read a sentence aloud: the AI scores your pronunciation (accuracy, fluency) and gives personalized feedback. For your privacy, the audio recording is deleted as soon as the analysis is done.
It's a memorization method: review cards are shown to you at increasingly longer intervals, timed for when you're about to forget. After completing a module, open its flashcards and click "Add to my reviews". The "Daily review" page then shows each due card: you rate whether you knew it (Again / Hard / Good / Easy) and the system automatically schedules the next review. A daily reminder appears in your notifications.
It's enabled by default. To disable (or re-enable) it, go to your dashboard: the "Spaced repetition" setting is below your correspondence language. When disabled, you no longer receive reminders and the review page disappears — your flashcards remain available as usual.
Several free tools help you: per-lesson personal notes, "to review" lessons, lists (pinned and "to complete"), a target date per course with pace tracking, personal stats (time spent, day streaks) and progress badges. Everything is available from your dashboard and each course's "Overview" page.
In the "My account" menu (top right), under "My courses"; a badge shows the number of unread notifications. There you receive your earned certificates, review reminders and announcements from your instructors.
To preserve the quality and ongoing updates of the content, courses are viewable online only. However, you can come back as often as you want and resume exactly where you left off.

For instructors

When you submit a training for publication, a quality checklist appears (deliverables, technical, pedagogy, consistency and polish). Every item must be verified and checked — if an item is not ready, neither is the training. Your attestation is recorded with the submission and the validation team refers to it during review.
Discover the benefits on the "Become an instructor" page, then fill out the application form (CV and LinkedIn profile requested). Our team reviews each request within a few business days. Once accepted, you gain access to a dedicated space to create and publish your courses.
A guided assistant: it first asks a few questions (topic, audience, level, language, goals), proposes a plan you approve or adjust, then writes the lessons and a quiz. You can also generate the course's marketing title and description, get an AI review of each lesson, and translate a course into FR / EN / ES. Everything stays editable, and content follows the conventions of the chosen language (e.g. Excel formulas in FR, EN or ES).
You can create your courses directly in the online editor, import a structured .zip file (modules / lessons in Markdown, Word or HTML — including lesson images and even quizzes as quiz.json), or host a SCORM 1.2 package played as-is. Excel files, audio, and external videos are also supported. A ready-to-adapt .zip template can be downloaded from the tutorial in your instructor space.
Yes. Your instructor space shows per-course statistics (enrollments, completion rate, hard questions, lesson drop-off, and the learners' "helpful lesson?" 👍/👎 votes with their comments), the questions learners ask the AI, and an "Earnings" page (estimated, exportable to CSV for your bookkeeping) with a per-course breakdown. You also get a notification for every sale 🎉, can send announcements to your enrolled learners and publicly reply to reviews.
Each lesson has a "Questions about this lesson" section where your enrolled learners ask questions publicly. You get a bell notification and answer from "Learner questions" in your instructor space — the learner is notified and your answer benefits everyone enrolled. You can hide an inappropriate question.
It is a short skills-check test offered to visitors BEFORE purchase: it confirms that your course matches their level (and will feed their personalized path). Compose it from the "Entry test" button on the edit page by checking 5 to 10 questions from your quizzes.
Yes. The "Preview (as learner)" button on the edit page opens your course in the real player, exactly as your learners will see it — even before any publication. A banner indicates preview mode and your navigation does not affect the course statistics.
An editorial team reviews each course before it goes live to verify quality, consistency, and compliance with the terms. A quality checklist flags gaps before you submit. If a publication is rejected, you receive the reason directly in your space (banner + notification) and by email.
Two sources. Unit sales: you earn your plan's percentage — Standard (higher share), Creator (with the AI building tools) or Special (custom). Subscriptions: every month, 50% of subscription revenue forms a royalty pot split between instructors in proportion to the engagement points generated by subscribers on their courses (course started, lessons completed, quizzes passed, course finished). Details are on the "For instructors" page and your estimated earnings in your space.
Nothing to configure on your end: as soon as a module has flashcards (auto-generated from your lessons), your learners can add them to their spaced-repetition schedule. Each learner has their own schedule and decides whether to enable the feature from their dashboard. It's a learner-side memorization tool that reinforces retention of your content with no action required from you.
Once a year (12 months after your last confirmation), you take one minute to confirm that you follow the MAK-IA instructor guidelines — from the “Compliance” page of your space. Reminders are sent 30 days and 7 days before the deadline. Past that date, access to your instructor space is suspended until you confirm; your courses remain online for learners and your earnings keep accruing.

Payment and subscriptions

Several courses are available for free. You can explore the platform and the AI assistant with no commitment before subscribing to a paid course or a subscription.
Three options: individually (lifetime access to the course), via a subscription (depending on the plan, some courses are included or discounted), or by buying a "bundle" — a set of courses grouped at a better price. You can also add several courses to the cart and pay at once.
Yes, when a code is currently valid: enter it in the cart and the total recalculates before payment. Occasional promotions (percentage off) may also apply automatically to certain courses.
Card payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS certified external provider — we do not store any payment data on our servers. Your invoices stay accessible from your subscription portal.
Yes, at any time, from your subscription portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. No hidden fees, no penalties.
